About The Artist

Medium length hero heading goes here

Dr. Nadine Gordon-Taylor maintains a studio-gallery called Third Eye Arts in Peekskill, NY. Born in Queens, NY, while attending high school and college, she studied at the Art Students League. She earned a BA with a concentration in printmaking and art history at Hunter College and her MFA in painting is from Long Island University. Her Ed.D in art education is from Columbia University. She has studied comparative religion and alternative healing modalities to help inform her art.

Before embarking on her journey as an intuitive artist and working with universal and intuitive symbols, Nadine focused on photorealist drawings and paintings of her shadow, integrating, embracing, and honoring her dark side. She has taught publicly and privately for over thirty years and has lectured and given workshops across the country. Her prints, drawings and paintings have been exhibited and are in collections around the world.

"The artist's job is to be a light in the darkness and a voice in the silence." —
Oscar Wilde

Bio/Artist’s Statement

Dr. Nadine Gordon-Taylor’s work explores the intersection of Heart-Based Consciousness and universal symbolism. Her practice is a perpetual pursuit of knowledge, often approaching her subjects with the rigor of a scientist before transitioning into an intuitive, non-linear creative process. Her current work focuses on the animal kingdom and its symbolic connection to the human experience. Born in New York City, Dr. Gordon-Taylor’s formal training began as a life member of the Art Students League, where she studied under legendary anatomist Robert Beverly Hale and painter Robert Brackman. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in printmaking and art history from Hunter College, an MFA in painting from Long Island University, and a Doctorate of art education from Columbia University, Teachers College. With over 30 years of experience as a public and private educator, she has taught at Westchester Community College and the College of New Rochelle and has led workshops and lectures nationwide. Her celebrated oracle decks, including: The Heart Path, Animal Love and Crystal Clear Oracle, are published through Inner Traditions Bear & Company.
